The WALTER 6353139 is a CNMG432-MK5 WKK10S solid carbide turning insert from the Tiger-tec Silver series, designed for high-performance metal cutting in CNC turning applications. It features a CVD triple-layer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiCN, which delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. The insert has a 1/2 inch inscribed circle, a 3/16 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. With four cutting edges and an 80-degree diamond shape, this insert is suited for production turning environments where edge life and consistent performance are critical. It is installed and serviced by CNC machinists and tooling technicians.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining cast iron and hard materials, making it a strong choice for general turning, facing, and boring operations. The MK5 chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chips effectively across a range of depths of cut up to 0.1969 inches (5.00 mm). The negative rake angle and chamfered and honed cutting edge style contribute to edge strength and process reliability in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It conforms to ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of CNMG120408-MK5 WKK10S, and fits standard CNMG-style toolholders that accept clamp and pin holding methods.
Designed for use in standard CNMG-style toolholders that support clamp and pin clamping methods with a 0.2030 inch hole diameter. Conforms to ANSI and ISO specifications under industry standard number CNMG432-MK5 WKK10S and ISO code CNMG120408-MK5 WKK10S. Applicable to material grades H30 and K10.
This insert is installed by CNC machinists and tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping components for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
