The WALTER 5888133 is a solid carbide milling insert with manufacturer part number P26339R14 WKP35S, designed for indexable milling operations in steel and cast iron applications. The triangular insert geometry features a 60-degree included angle, a positive rake angle of 10 degrees, and a 14-degree relief angle, which together promote clean shearing action and reduced cutting forces. The WKP35S grade carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiCN, providing thermal resistance and wear protection during medium to heavy milling passes. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician installs this insert into compatible screw-type toolholders.
This insert is intended for milling steel and cast iron workpieces in both roughing and semi-finishing contexts. It is specified for use with the F2330 cutter series and follows ANSI and ISO standard designations P26339R14 WKP35S. The right-hand cutting orientation and chamfered, honed cutting edge style make it suited for conventional milling setups in production and job-shop environments. The positive rake geometry and common chip breaker design help manage chip evacuation across a range of depths of cut up to 0.328 inches.
Specified for use with the Walter F2330 cutter series. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO code P26339R14 WKP35S and fits toolholders designed for the P26339 insert series with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and screw-type clamping.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing inserts, de-energize the machine and ensure all spindle motion has fully stopped. Seat the insert firmly in the pocket and torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value - do not over-tighten, as solid carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under uneven clamping load. Inspect the pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
