The WALTER 5886305 is a solid carbide milling insert in the ADMT series, designated ANSI/ISO code ADMT160650R-F56 with manufacturer grade WKP35S. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiCN, engineered for cutting steel and cast iron at sustained metal removal rates. The parallelogram-shaped insert measures 0.6890 inches in length and 0.4250 inches in width, with a thickness of 0.2420 inches. A 5.00 mm corner radius and positive rake geometry with a 16-degree rake angle reduce cutting forces and help control heat at the edge. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC toolroom technicians working with milling cutters in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling applications in steel and cast iron workpieces, covering material grades P35 and K35. The F56 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow across a range of depths, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.6890 inches. Right-hand cutting orientation must be confirmed before ordering. Compatible cutter bodies include the F2010, F4042, and F4238 series, making this insert appropriate for medium to heavy-duty milling operations in both production and maintenance machining environments.
Confirmed compatible cutter series: F2010, F4042, and F4238. Insert size code 160650 with an inscribed circle range of 0.4000 to 0.5000 inches and a length range of 0.6500 to 0.7000 inches. Verify cutter body pocket geometry and hand orientation before installation. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards under code ADMT160650R-F56 WKP35S.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver specified by the cutter body manufacturer for the insert clamping screw - do not over-torque, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
