The WALTER 5833825 is a replaceable drill tip in the P6003 series, designed for indexable drill systems used in high-demand machining operations. It carries a 0.5310-inch (13.49 mm) cutting diameter and a 140-degree standard point angle. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide in Grade WMP35 and finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, which improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. Insert Seat Size A governs body fitment. This tip is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC or manual drill setups requiring precise, repeatable hole entry.
The P6003 series tip is intended for primary use in superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel (ISO codes P and M). Typical applications include aerospace component machining, precision part production, and industrial fabrication where difficult-to-machine materials require a carbide tip with strong edge integrity and thermal stability. The helical flute geometry and regular spiral support chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. This tip does not include coolant-through capability, so external or flood coolant delivery should be planned at the setup stage.
Designed for use in compatible P6003-series indexable drill bodies requiring Insert Seat Size A and a 0.5310-inch replaceable tip. Verify seat size and series designation against the drill body before ordering.
Installation of replaceable drill tips should be performed by qualified machinists following the drill body manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips or contamination before installation to ensure proper seating and runout. Do not use the tip without confirming secure clamp engagement, as an improperly seated tip can fracture under cutting load.
