The WALRICH 2885004 is a 1-inch IPS male Con-Stab pipe adapter designed for joining underground medium-density polyethylene gas distribution pipe. Built to the SDR-11 wall-thickness standard, this adapter features Continental's patented ID Seal technology, which creates a reliable internal seal against the pipe's inner diameter. The body is constructed from yellow medium-density polyethylene (PE2406) with zinc dichromate plated steel components. It is rated for working pressures up to 125 psi and a temperature range of -20 degrees F to 140 degrees F. Licensed gas technicians and utility contractors install this fitting in natural gas and propane distribution systems.
This adapter is intended for use with underground polyethylene pipe meeting ASTM D 2513 specifications. The yellow color conforms to standard gas-service pipe identification. At 19.25 inches in length, the fitting provides sufficient engagement for a secure mechanical connection without solvent cement or heat fusion. Typical installations include service line transitions, meter set assemblies, and main-line branch connections where IPS-threaded metallic fittings interface with PE distribution pipe.
Designed for use with underground medium-density polyethylene pipe conforming to ASTM D 2513 in 1-inch IPS sizing. Suitable for natural gas and LP gas distribution systems using SDR-11 PE pipe.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter or qualified utility contractor in accordance with applicable codes, including IFGC and local gas distribution standards. Shut off and vent the gas supply completely before making any connections. No heat fusion or solvent cement is required for the Con-Stab stab-type connection, but follow the manufacturer's insertion-depth and pipe-preparation requirements precisely. Inspect the pipe end for cuts, gouges, or out-of-round conditions before insertion, as pipe-end quality directly affects seal integrity.
