The VYBOND P251M2 is a professional-grade metallized cloth duct tape engineered for sealing, bundling, and general repair work in HVAC and mechanical system applications. It features a reinforced cloth backing with a metallized surface finish and a rubber-based adhesive that delivers approximately 50 oz/in of adhesion to steel. The total tape thickness is 10 mils, and each roll measures 2 inches wide by 60 yards long. The operating temperature range runs from 40 degrees F to 200 degrees F, making it suitable for ductwork environments where moderate heat resistance is required. Licensed HVAC technicians and mechanical contractors are the primary installers.
This tape is used across residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a clean, uniform metallic appearance is needed alongside reliable conformability. It bonds well to rigid and flexible ductwork, duct insulation jacketing, and foil-faced materials. The metallized finish gives installations a finished look consistent with professional sheet metal work. Common applications include sealing duct joints and seams, bundling insulation, patching minor surface tears, and securing vapor barrier overlaps in mechanical rooms and attic spaces.
Designed as a general-purpose metallized cloth duct tape for use on HVAC ductwork, duct insulation jacketing, and foil-faced surfaces in residential and light commercial mechanical applications.
HVAC technicians and sheet metal mechanics typically apply this tape as part of duct sealing and repair work. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or loose insulation fibers before tape application to ensure full adhesive contact. Firm hand pressure or a roller tool should be used along the entire tape length to seat the adhesive. Follow applicable mechanical codes for duct sealing requirements, as tape-only sealing may not satisfy all code provisions without supplemental mastic in certain jurisdictions.
