The VYBOND N324A2.5 is a cold-weather aluminum foil duct tape engineered for HVAC sealing applications where ambient temperatures make standard foil tapes unreliable. Built with an acrylic adhesive system, it maintains a strong bond at temperatures as low as -40 degrees F and holds through service conditions up to 300 degrees F. Total tape thickness is 3 mil, and adhesion to steel is approximately 45 oz/in. Each roll measures 2.5 inches wide and 60 yards long. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors reach for this tape when sealing duct seams, insulation joints, and vapor barriers during cold-weather installation or in unheated spaces where adhesive failure is a common callback.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC ductwork where installations occur in cold ambient conditions — unfinished basements, unconditioned attics, crawl spaces, or exterior job sites during winter months. It performs on rigid fiberglass duct board, flex duct seams, metal duct joints, and vapor barrier overlaps. Because the acrylic adhesive activates and grips at low temperatures, it eliminates the wait-and-press-and-hope cycle that plagues standard pressure-sensitive foil tapes in cold environments. One roll is included per unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement foil duct tape for cold-weather HVAC sealing applications on metal duct systems, rigid duct board, flexible duct, and vapor barriers where standard acrylic foil tapes fail to bond.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or sheet metal contractors in accordance with SMACNA ductwork standards. Before applying, clean the substrate surface of dust, oil, and moisture to maximize adhesion. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape width after placement to ensure full contact between the adhesive and the substrate. Inspect seams after installation to confirm no lifting or gaps are present, particularly at corners and joints.
