The VYBOND FSK3CW is a reinforced foil-skrim-kraft insulation seaming tape engineered for cold-weather installation conditions. It uses an acrylic adhesive formulated to maintain tack at low temperatures, making it reliable for sealing FSK insulation seams and vapor barriers when ambient conditions drop well below freezing. The tape measures 3 inches wide, carries a total thickness of approximately 3 mil, and delivers adhesion of around 40 oz per inch to steel. Operating range spans -40 degrees F to 300 degrees F. HVAC insulation installers and sheet metal contractors working in cold-weather environments reach for this tape to achieve consistent, airtight seams without adhesive failure.
The FSK3CW is suited for residential and commercial HVAC insulation work where foil-faced duct wrap, duct board, or vapor barrier facing must be seamed and sealed. It is particularly well-suited for job sites where installation temperatures are low and standard pressure-sensitive tapes lose their tack prematurely. Each unit includes one 150-foot roll, making it practical for large-scale insulation seaming runs without mid-job reloading.
Designed as an OEM-style seaming tape for foil-skrim-kraft faced duct wrap, duct board, and vapor barrier insulation systems used in residential and commercial HVAC applications.
Installation is typically performed by licensed HVAC technicians or insulation contractors following SMACNA and local mechanical code requirements for duct insulation seaming. Ensure all FSK facing surfaces are clean, dry, and free of dust or oil before applying tape for maximum adhesion. Apply firm hand pressure across the full width of the tape after laying it onto the seam to ensure full contact with the acrylic adhesive. Do not apply to wet or frosted surfaces even though the adhesive is cold-weather rated.
