The VYBOND 555-METALLIC_3X120YD is a metallic printed OPP film tape with an acrylic adhesive system, engineered for HVAC duct sealing, dryer vent connections, and reflective insulation patching. The tape measures 3 inches wide and runs 120 yards per roll at 3.1 mil thickness. It carries a UL 181B-FX listing, making it code-compliant for flexible duct sealing applications. The acrylic adhesive is solvent-free and low in VOC content, which supports LEED compliance for both EA Credit 1 and EQ Credit 4.1. HVAC technicians and insulation contractors are the primary installers. The hand-tearable backing speeds up fieldwork without requiring a dispenser gun on every job.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a UL 181B-FX listed product is required by code. Typical applications include sealing flexible and rigid duct connections, patching reflective bubble insulation materials, and securing dryer vent connections. The metallic finish with high-visibility print allows inspectors to quickly identify taped joints during inspection. The mold- and moisture-resistant construction makes it appropriate for installations in unconditioned spaces, crawlspaces, and attics where humidity exposure is common.
Designed for use on flexible duct connections, dryer vent connections, and reflective or bubble insulation materials in residential and commercial HVAC applications where UL 181B-FX listed tape is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician or insulation contractor in accordance with local mechanical codes and SMACNA guidelines. Shut down the HVAC system before accessing duct connections or vent terminations. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of dust or grease before applying tape to ensure full adhesive contact. Follow local Authority Having Jurisdiction requirements for duct sealing materials and listed product usage.
