The VYBOND 324A2 is an aluminum foil tape engineered for reliable adhesion in cold-weather conditions where standard foil tapes commonly fail. It uses an acrylic adhesive formulated to bond at temperatures as low as -40 degrees F, making it well-suited for duct sealing jobs that fall outside the performance window of conventional HVAC tapes. The tape measures 2 inches wide, runs 60 yards per roll, and carries a total thickness of approximately 3 mil. Published adhesion strength is approximately 45 oz/in to steel. HVAC technicians and insulation contractors reach for this tape when ambient conditions on the job site push below the threshold of standard acrylic or rubber-based foil tapes.
This tape is used in residential and light-commercial HVAC applications for sealing duct seams, foil-faced insulation joints, and vapor barriers. It performs across a wide operating temperature range of approximately -40 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it appropriate for both cold-climate installations and high-heat duct environments. One 60-yard roll is included per unit. Typical install scenarios include new duct fabrication in cold weather, wintertime service calls on existing ductwork, and insulation facing repairs where low ambient temperatures are a factor.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement foil tape for sealing duct seams, foil-faced insulation joints, and vapor barriers in residential and light-commercial HVAC systems where low-temperature adhesion is required.
Licensed HVAC technicians and insulation contractors typically install foil tape as part of duct fabrication or repair work performed under applicable mechanical codes. Before applying, ensure the substrate surface is clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or loose facing material to achieve full adhesive contact. Apply firm hand pressure or a roller across the full tape width to activate the adhesive bond. Do not apply over wet surfaces or active condensation.
