The VYBOND 1086422 is a premium-grade metallized duct tape engineered for HVAC duct sealing, general repair, and contractor applications. It features a metallized polyethylene coated cloth backing paired with a natural rubber adhesive that bonds firmly to sheet metal, flex duct, and rigid ductboard surfaces. At 11 mil thick, the tape delivers the structural rigidity and tear resistance needed for professional installations. The metallic finish reflects heat and resists moisture, making it a practical choice in mechanical rooms, attic spaces, and plenum environments. It is sized at 48 millimeters wide by 55 meters long per roll and is sold 24 rolls per case.
This tape is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC work, including duct sealing at seams and connections, HVAC contractor service calls, and general mechanical repair tasks. Its temperature rating of 40 to 200 degrees F covers the range typically encountered in forced-air duct systems, whether in unconditioned attic spaces during summer or cold-climate supply plenums. HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors are the primary installers, though plumbing and general service trades use it for repair and wrap applications as well.
Designed for use in duct sealing and HVAC contractor applications, general repair, and compatible with sheet metal ductwork, flex duct, and rigid ductboard surfaces where a metallized tape is appropriate.
HVAC technicians and sheet metal contractors apply this tape to clean, dry surfaces for best adhesion — remove dust, oil, and moisture before application. Follow local mechanical codes (such as IMC or SMACNA standards) for approved duct sealing methods, as tape-only sealing may not satisfy all code requirements without mastic in certain jurisdictions. Do not apply to surfaces that exceed the rated temperature range of 200 degrees F. Cut with a utility knife or tear by hand; no dispenser is included or required.
