The VON DUPRIN EPT1028CON is an electrified power transfer device with integrated connector, designed to carry low-voltage electrical signals and power through a door frame to an electrified exit device or access control hardware mounted on the door. It installs at the hinge side of the door, bridging the gap between the frame-side wiring and the door-mounted hardware without exposed conduit or loose wiring. The unit ships in a 628 anodized aluminum finish, making it suitable for installations where a clean, corrosion-resistant appearance is required. Licensed access control and door hardware technicians handle installation as part of electrified exit device or electric latch retraction systems.
The EPT1028CON is used in commercial and institutional door openings where electrified exit devices, electric strikes, or access control readers require a concealed, continuous-duty wiring path from the fixed frame to the active door leaf. Typical applications include office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and public buildings where code-compliant electrified egress hardware is required. It is suited for new installations and retrofits on doors already equipped with compatible Von Duprin electrified exit device systems.
Designed as an OEM-style power transfer for commercial electrified exit device systems requiring a hinge-side wiring bridge between the door frame and the door-mounted hardware.
Installation should be performed by a licensed door hardware or access control technician familiar with NFPA 80 and local fire door requirements. Disconnect and lock out all power to the electrified hardware before beginning installation or wiring work. Verify that conductor count and voltage ratings of the connected devices are within the transfer unit specifications before energizing. Do not modify the connector housing or extend wiring beyond the manufacturer-specified run lengths.
