The VON DUPRIN 996LNLM26DLHR17 is a Left Hand Reverse night latch lever trim designed for use with Von Duprin 98 and 99 series mortise exit devices. It ships with a 17 lever and is finished in 626 Satin Chrome. This trim mounts to the interior side of the door and allows a lever handle to retract the latch from outside while the exit device controls egress from inside. It is installed by commercial door hardware technicians and locksmiths on doors requiring controlled entry alongside code-compliant emergency egress. The 626 Satin Chrome finish provides a clean, neutral appearance suited to commercial interior hardware standards.
This trim is applicable to commercial and institutional buildings where a mortise exit device must also allow keyed or unkeyed lever entry from the secure side. Typical installations include office corridors, school hallways, healthcare facilities, and government buildings. The night latch function means the lever operates the latch without a key when the device is in the unlocked position, while locking restricts outside entry. It pairs specifically with Von Duprin 98 and 99 mortise exit device bodies.
Designed for use with Von Duprin 98 and 99 series mortise exit devices. Left Hand Reverse handing applies to doors where the hinge is on the right when viewed from the secure side and the door swings away from the viewer.
Installation should be performed by a licensed commercial door hardware technician or qualified locksmith familiar with mortise exit device trim replacement. Verify door handing before ordering, as lever trim handing cannot be field-reversed on this model. De-latch and secure the door in an open position before removing existing trim hardware to prevent accidental lock-out. Local building codes and NFPA 101 life safety requirements should be consulted to confirm trim function is appropriate for the door's occupancy classification and egress path.
