The VLIER P312 is a steel toggle pad designed for use with toggle clamps in fixturing, workholding, and clamping applications. It features a 1-5/8 inch pad diameter and a 1-8 UNC thread for secure attachment. The uncoated bottom face provides direct metal-to-metal contact on the workpiece, while a zinc plated gold chromate finish protects the body from corrosion. The pad swivels up to 15 degrees to accommodate angled or uneven workpiece surfaces. Overall length is 1-53/64 inches, width across flats is 1-3/8 inches, and pad depth is 13/16 inches. Licensed tradespeople and fixture builders install this component in production and assembly environments.
The P312 is suited for light to medium-duty toggle clamp setups in manufacturing, welding fixtures, and machining workholding applications. It threads directly onto standard toggle clamp spindles with a 1-8 UNC thread standard. The uncoated bottom is appropriate where bare steel contact is acceptable or where the operator will add a custom tip or pad material to the bottom face.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade toggle pad for toggle clamps with a 1-8 UNC threaded spindle.
Toggle pads are installed by threading the P312 onto the toggle clamp spindle by hand and then adjusting to the desired clamp height before tightening. Use appropriate wrenches on the flats to secure the pad position. Ensure the clamp and any associated fixture is de-energized or released before adjusting or replacing the pad. Verify thread engagement depth is sufficient to handle the intended clamping load before putting the fixture into service.
