The VLIER NSC349 is a swivel pad leveling screw designed for precision positioning and workholding applications in industrial and machining environments. Built on a 1/2-13 UNC thread, it measures 3 inches overall length with a 2-11/16 inch thread engagement length. The screw body is alloy steel with a black oxide finish for corrosion resistance. The swivel pad is Delrin, offering a non-marring contact surface with a 0.4 inch pad diameter and a 7.5-degree swivel angle to accommodate uneven or angled workpiece surfaces. Adjustment is made with a 1/4 inch hex key. This component is manufactured under ISO 9001 quality standards.
This leveling screw is used in fixtures, jigs, vises, machine bases, and workholding setups where a firm, adjustable contact point is required. The Delrin swivel pad protects finished or soft workpiece surfaces while the alloy steel body handles clamping and support loads. Typical installers include machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders working in production or job-shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit swivel pad leveling screw for standard 1/2-13 UNC threaded holes in industrial fixtures, jigs, machine bases, and workholding components.
Install using a 1/4 inch hex key. Ensure the threaded bore is clean and free of debris before threading in the screw. Thread engagement should be sufficient for the applied load - consult fixture design guidelines for minimum engagement depth. No power source or lockout is required for installation, but secure the workpiece or fixture before applying clamping force.
