The VLIER FRS375 is a locking L handle spring plunger designed for positioning, locating, and indexing applications in industrial and mechanical assemblies. It features a 3/8-16 threaded body with a 0.62 inch thread length and a 0.25 inch plunger diameter. The plunger delivers an initial end force of 0.25 pounds and a final end force of 1.25 pounds, making it well suited for light-duty locking and retention tasks. The steel construction provides durability in demanding shop and production environments. Machinists, toolmakers, and mechanical assemblers commonly install this type of plunger.
The FRS375 is used in jigs, fixtures, tooling plates, and machine components where repeatable positioning or spring-loaded retention is required. The L handle design allows manual actuation and locking without additional tools, making it practical for applications that require frequent adjustment or part changeover. It is appropriate for both light industrial and precision tooling environments.
Designed as a standard-thread spring plunger for use in threaded bores sized for 3/8-16 fasteners, typical in industrial jigs, fixtures, and tooling plate assemblies.
Installation is performed by threading the plunger body into a tapped 3/8-16 hole using the hex head, which measures 0.38 inches across. Ensure the receiving bore is clean and properly tapped to the correct depth before installation. Do not overtighten, as this may restrict plunger travel or damage the spring mechanism. Verify plunger projection and force requirements match the application before finalizing installation.
