The VIRGINIA ABRASIVES CORP 414-17060 is a 17-inch diameter mesh sanding screen designed for use with 17-inch floor buffers and rotary machines. At 60 grit, it is suited for aggressive material removal, surface preparation, and the leveling of coatings or adhesive residues on wood and resilient flooring. The open-mesh construction allows dust and debris to pass through the screen rather than loading the abrasive surface, extending usable life compared to solid abrasive discs. Flooring contractors and facility maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this type of abrasive accessory.
This sanding screen is intended for use on hard-surface floors in residential and light commercial settings. It mounts to a 17-inch rotary floor buffer or low-speed floor machine and is used in conjunction with a 17-inch diameter white buffing pad. Common applications include screening between finish coats on hardwood floors, scuffing existing coatings before recoating, and light stock removal on wood subfloors or solid hardwood.
Designed for use with 17-inch diameter floor buffers and low-speed rotary floor machines. Intended to be used with a 17-inch diameter white buffing pad.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified flooring contractor or trained maintenance professional familiar with rotary floor equipment. Power down and unplug the floor machine before mounting or changing the sanding screen. Place the white pad beneath the screen to cushion the abrasive action and protect the pad driver. Always inspect the screen for tears or wear before each use and replace if damaged.
