The VIEGA 90235 is a MegaPress 5111 series press-by-male-pipe-thread adapter machined from 316 stainless steel and fitted with an EPDM sealing element. It transitions a 1/2 inch press connection to a 3/4 inch male NPT thread, making it a common fitting in mechanical piping systems where press-tool installation is required on one end and a threaded connection is needed on the other. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters use this adapter when terminating MegaPress stainless runs at valves, equipment ports, or threaded piping assemblies. The 316 stainless construction and EPDM o-ring suit corrosive-service and hydronic applications where standard brass fittings are not suitable.
The VIEGA 90235 is intended for use in residential and commercial mechanical systems where stainless steel piping is specified, including domestic water, hydronic heating, cooling, and light industrial fluid-handling applications. It is part of the MegaPress 5111 product family, designed to work within the MegaPress system using Viega-approved press tooling and jaws. The press end accepts standard MegaPress tooling for a leak-tested, no-solder connection, while the male NPT thread end connects to standard threaded components.
Designed for use within the Viega MegaPress system. Compatible with MegaPress press tooling and approved jaw sets for the 1/2 inch press end. The 3/4 inch male NPT thread connects to standard NPT-threaded fittings and equipment ports per ASME B1.20.1.
Installation of the press end requires a Viega-approved press tool and the correct jaw size for the 1/2 inch connection — using non-approved tooling voids system integrity. Shut off and depressurize the piping system and verify the pipe is clean and free of burrs before pressing. Thread the MPT end using appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape applied per the fitting manufacturer and applicable plumbing code. A licensed plumber or pipefitter should perform this work in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASME standards.
