The VIEGA 82055 is a Model 4007XL plain-end stainless steel pipe designed for demanding industrial and commercial plumbing applications. Manufactured from 316 stainless steel to ASTM A312 standards, this pipe measures 4 inches nominal diameter with a 3.97-inch inside diameter, a 4.13-inch outside diameter, and a 0.08-inch wall thickness. The 20-foot length is rated for working pressures up to 200 psi and service temperatures from 0 to 250 degrees F. It is intended for use in ProPress press-fit piping systems, making it compatible with ProPress fittings and valves for fast, flame-free installation by licensed plumbers and pipefitters.
This pipe is suited for industrial environments including breweries, food and beverage processing facilities, and light industrial plants. Application coverage includes fire protection systems, compressed air distribution, process piping, and general industrial fluid handling. The 316 stainless alloy provides enhanced corrosion resistance in chloride-exposed and chemically aggressive environments compared to 304 stainless. When paired with VIEGA ProPress fittings, this pipe forms a complete, code-compliant press-fit system that eliminates open-flame joining on the installation site.
Designed for use in VIEGA ProPress stainless steel piping systems with compatible ProPress fittings and valves. Suitable for fire protection, compressed air, and industrial process piping applications where press-fit joining is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable local mechanical and plumbing codes. Isolate and depressurize the system and verify zero pressure before cutting or joining pipe. Plain-end pipe requires proper deburring and cleaning of cut ends before pressing to ensure a leak-free connection with ProPress fittings. Open-flame brazing or soldering is not required with the ProPress press-fit method, reducing fire hazard on job sites.
