The VIEGA 82042 is a 316 stainless steel plain-end pipe from the ProPress Model 4007XL series, engineered for demanding industrial and commercial fluid systems. At 2.5 inches nominal diameter, it features a 2.47-inch inside diameter, a 2.63-inch outside diameter, and a 0.08-inch wall thickness. The pipe is rated to 200 psi working pressure and is suitable for service in a temperature range of 0 to 250 degrees F. Manufactured to ASTM A312 standards, it ships in 20-foot lengths. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors install this pipe in systems that demand corrosion resistance and code-compliant pressure ratings.
This pipe is designed for industrial environments where stainless steel is required for hygiene, corrosion resistance, or process purity. Typical applications include breweries, food and beverage processing facilities, fire protection systems, compressed air distribution, and general industrial piping. It is part of the Viega ProPress stainless steel system, which includes compatible fittings and valves, making it a complete piping solution for a wide range of mechanical systems in both new construction and retrofit projects.
Designed for use within the Viega ProPress stainless steel piping system, including ProPress stainless steel fittings and valves. Compatible with applications including fire protection systems, compressed air, brewery and industrial facility piping. Plain-end configuration is suitable for press-fit, weld, or mechanical connections as applicable to the installed fitting type.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable local codes and ASME B31.3 or B31.9 process and building services piping standards. Isolate and depressurize the system completely before cutting or joining pipe sections. When using press-fit fittings, use only the manufacturer-specified press tool and jaw size for the pipe diameter to ensure a leak-free connection. Wear appropriate PPE when cutting stainless steel pipe, as cut edges are sharp.
