The VIEGA 79350 is a bronze pipe adapter designed to transition between a press-style connection and a female National Pipe Thread (FNPT) fitting. It serves as a reliable mechanical connector in copper piping systems where a threaded female port is needed at the terminal end of a press-fit run. The adapter measures 1-1/4 inches nominal and is constructed from bronze, making it suitable for potable water, hydronic heating, and light commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this type of fitting.
This adapter is used in residential and light commercial plumbing and hydronic systems where press-fit copper piping transitions to a threaded connection. Typical install scenarios include connecting to threaded valves, pumps, manifolds, or equipment ports. The press end accepts standard press-fit tooling, while the FNPT end accepts any standard male-threaded fitting or component. It is well suited for retrofit work where minimizing open-flame torch work is a priority.
Designed as an OEM-style press fitting for use in 1-1/4 inch copper press piping systems requiring a female NPT transition point.
Installation of press fittings must be performed by a licensed plumber using an approved press tool and the correct jaw size for the nominal pipe diameter. Shut off and depressurize the water or hydronic system before beginning any fitting work. Verify that pipe ends are clean, deburred, and fully inserted to the depth mark before pressing. Threaded connections on the FNPT end should be made with an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape in accordance with local plumbing codes.
