The VIEGA 44240 is a copper 90-degree stub-out elbow designed for PureFlow PEX crimp installations in residential and light commercial plumbing systems. It features a 3/4-inch PEX insert connection on one end and a 3/4-inch copper fitting (FTG) connection on the other, with an overall stub-out length of 8 inches and a 3-1/2-inch offset dimension. The closed-end stub configuration supports direct valve or fixture connection at rough-in, making it a standard component in new construction and remodel plumbing rough-in work. Manufactured in the USA from copper, this fitting is installed by licensed plumbers using standard PEX crimp tooling and copper sweat methods.
The VIEGA 44240 is suited for potable water distribution systems where PEX tubing transitions to copper stub-out at walls or floors. Typical applications include lavatory, kitchen, and utility sink fixture connections, as well as shower and tub valve rough-ins. The 3-1/2-inch by 8-inch form factor is sized for standard residential stud-wall installations. This fitting integrates into PureFlow crimp systems following ASTM F1807 crimp ring standards and is compatible with standard copper sweat fittings on the FTG end.
Designed for use in VIEGA PureFlow PEX crimp systems with 3/4-inch PEX tubing and standard 3/4-inch copper sweat fittings. Connection type is Crimp x FTG per input specifications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. The PEX insert end requires a properly sized crimp ring and calibrated crimp tool; confirm ring seating before pressurizing. The FTG copper end should be sweat-soldered using standard practices with lead-free solder compliant with applicable potable water requirements.
