The VIEGA 26805 is a press-in branch connector designed for SCH 10 carbon steel pipe systems. It creates a 3/4 in FNPT threaded branch connection directly on a 2 in main pipe run without welding, cutting, or open flame. The connection is made using a standard battery-powered or corded pressing tool, which makes it well suited for occupied buildings and retrofit environments where hot work permits are difficult to obtain. The fitting ships zinc nickel coated for corrosion resistance and is rated to 200 psi and 284 degrees F. It is fitted with a sealing element of either EPDM or FKM; fittings marked with a green dot carry EPDM seals and those marked with a white dot carry FKM seals.
This branch connector is intended for use in residential and commercial hydronic, mechanical, and process piping installations where a threaded branch tap is needed on an existing or new SCH 10 carbon steel main. Typical applications include pipe manifolds for sensors, thermometers, gauge ports, and drains. Its compact footprint makes it particularly useful in tight mechanical rooms and congested pipe racks where a standard tee or weld-o-let would not fit. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary trade for installation.
Designed for use with SCH 10 and SCH 40/STD carbon steel pipe in the 2 in nominal pipe size. Branch outlet produces a 3/4 in NPT threaded connection. Part of the VIEGA MegaPress Series 4812.2 press fitting system.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter familiar with press-fit piping systems. De-pressurize and drain the line before pressing the fitting onto the pipe. Use only a compatible MegaPress pressing tool and jaw set sized for the pipe diameter; do not substitute press jaws from other fitting systems. Verify local plumbing and mechanical codes for acceptance of press-fit fittings before installation.
