The VICTOR 1000-0258 is a medium-duty flowmeter regulator designed to measure and control shielding gas flow for MIG and TIG welding applications. Built around the FM 370 platform, it supports three gas types with calibrated flow ranges: 5 to 40 SCFH for carbon dioxide, 5 to 50 SCFH for argon, and 20 to 150 SCFH for helium. The unit operates at 25 psig inlet pressure and connects via a 9/16-18 RH female inlet fitting with a 5/8-18 RH female outlet fitting. The flow tube and outer cover tube are constructed from impact-resistant Lexan polycarbonate, and the cover tube includes built-in overpressure protection. Licensed welding technicians and fabrication professionals install this regulator in shop and field environments.
This flowmeter regulator is suited for industrial and general fabrication, light fabrication, structural steel fabrication, and repair and maintenance workflows. It is pressure-compensated to handle low-surge demand typical of MIG and TIG torch setups. The multi-gas calibration makes it practical in shops that run carbon dioxide, argon, or helium shielding gases without needing separate meters for each gas. Its compact, durable construction holds up in production welding environments where regulators see frequent connection cycles and occasional rough handling.
Designed as a medium-duty OEM-style flowmeter regulator for use with carbon dioxide, argon, and helium shielding gas cylinders in MIG and TIG welding systems using standard RH (right-hand) threaded connections.
Installation should be performed by a qualified welding technician or gas equipment professional. Shut off the cylinder valve and bleed all pressure from the line before connecting or disconnecting the regulator. Inspect inlet and outlet fittings for damage or debris before threading connections hand-tight and then snugging with a wrench — do not overtighten fittings or use thread sealants on these gas connections. Verify for leaks with an approved leak-detection solution before returning the system to service.
