The VERSABAR VA-1PLH-SS is a 304 stainless steel strut channel designed for structural support applications in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC installations. Measuring 10 feet in length with a 1.625 inch height and 1.625 inch width, this channel features oblong slotted holes that allow for flexible component positioning along the full length of the channel. The 304 stainless steel construction provides strong corrosion resistance, making it suitable for wet, outdoor, or chemically active environments where standard carbon steel strut would degrade. Licensed tradespeople across multiple disciplines rely on this channel type for pipe hangers, equipment supports, cable tray framing, and conduit routing.
This channel is well suited for commercial and industrial installations where corrosion resistance is a priority. Typical applications include mechanical rooms, food service facilities, coastal environments, and outdoor equipment pads where moisture exposure is a constant concern. The oblong slot pattern accepts standard strut hardware, beam clamps, and pipe clamp assemblies, allowing installers to position fittings anywhere along the run without field drilling.
Designed for use with standard 1-5/8 inch strut channel fittings, pipe clamps, beam clamps, and related hardware compatible with the P1000-series channel profile.
Strut channel is typically installed by licensed HVAC, plumbing, or electrical contractors following NEC, IPC, or IFGC support-spacing requirements as applicable. Cut channel to length using a metal-cutting saw or angle grinder rated for stainless steel, and deburr cut ends before installing hardware. Secure all fittings with the appropriate spring nuts and bolts torqued per the hardware manufacturer specifications. Avoid mixing stainless steel channel with carbon steel hardware to prevent galvanic corrosion at contact points.
