The VERMONT GAGE 912100900 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage used to verify bore and hole dimensions to tight tolerances in precision metrology and quality-control applications. Manufactured from tool steel with a black oxide finish, this gage checks a nominal diameter of 0.90 mm with a tolerance of 0.005 mm. The overall length is 2.0000 inches. It ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, making it suitable for environments that require documented calibration traceability. Licensed metrologists, quality technicians, and tool-room machinists are the primary users of this type of instrument.
This plug gage is used in go-inspection applications where a bore must fall within a specified minimum size before a part advances through the production or assembly process. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices. Typical environments include machine shops, manufacturing inspection departments, and precision assembly operations working with small-bore components. The 0.90 mm diameter range makes it well-suited for fine mechanical work, medical device components, and miniature hydraulic or pneumatic passages.
Designed for use as a go plug gage in bore inspection and for setting micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices per ASME B89.1 requirements.
Plug gages are precision instruments and should be handled by trained quality or metrology personnel. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent nicks, corrosion, and dimensional changes. Never force the gage into a bore; if it does not pass with light hand pressure, the bore is undersize. Clean the gage and bore before each use to remove chips, oils, and debris that can affect readings.
