The VERMONT GAGE 361148010 is a Go-type threaded ring gage machined from tool steel for dimensional inspection of external threads. It is designed to verify that a 5/8-18 UNF Class 2A male-threaded workpiece falls within the acceptable tolerance boundary for entry. When a Go ring gage passes freely over the threaded fastener or shaft, the thread form, pitch diameter, and lead are confirmed within specification. This is a single-ring configuration, meaning the Go function is contained in one gage body. It is used on the shop floor, at incoming inspection stations, and in field quality checks by machinists, quality technicians, and precision tool tradespeople.
This gage is suited for inspection of unified fine thread (UNF) external threads at the 5/8-18 designation, which is common in precision fastener assemblies, hydraulic fittings, and mechanical sub-assemblies requiring fine thread engagement. Class 2A is the standard tolerance class for most commercial and industrial bolts and screws. The Go ring gage is the acceptance side of a Go/No-Go inspection pair. It confirms minimum material condition compliance before parts move forward in assembly or are released for use.
Designed for inspection of external 5/8-18 UNF Class 2A threaded components. Intended for use as a Go ring gage in standard Go/No-Go thread inspection procedures for unified fine thread forms.
Thread ring gages are handled and applied by quality technicians or machinists — not installed in a system. Before use, clean both the gage and the workpiece thread of chips, oil, and debris to avoid false readings or premature gage wear. Never force a Go ring gage over a thread; if resistance is felt, the thread does not pass and the gage should be removed without applying torque. Store ring gages in a protective case away from other metal tooling to prevent damage to the precision-ground bore.
