The VERMONT GAGE 361147020 is a Go-class threaded ring gage used to verify the minimum material condition of external threads. It is designed to check 5/8-11 UNC threads to Class 3A tolerances, confirming that a threaded fastener or shaft will assemble correctly with a mating part. Made from tool steel, this single-ring gage provides the dimensional stability and wear resistance required for accurate, repeatable inspection work. It is calibrated to NIST standards, making it suitable for use in quality control environments where traceability is required. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality inspectors are the primary users of this type of gage.
This gage is used in manufacturing and machining operations where 5/8-11 UNC external threads must be verified against Class 3A tolerance limits. Class 3A is a close-tolerance fit class commonly specified for threaded fasteners and precision assemblies in aerospace, automotive, and general industrial applications. The Go ring gage is applied to the threaded workpiece to confirm that the thread pitch diameter and lead are within the maximum metal condition limits of the tolerance class. It does not verify the no-go condition; a separate No-Go ring gage is required for full thread inspection per ASME B1 gauging practice.
Designed for inspection of external 5/8-11 UNC threads manufactured to ASME Class 3A tolerance specifications.
Threaded ring gages are used by machinists and quality control technicians and require no installation in a mechanical system. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion and maintain calibration integrity. Do not force the gage onto a workpiece thread; resistance during gauging indicates the thread is out of tolerance, not that additional torque should be applied. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable masters is recommended to maintain measurement accuracy over time.
