The VERMONT GAGE 361129510 is a Go-class threaded ring gage used to verify the maximum material condition of external threads. Manufactured from tool steel, this single-ring gage checks 5/16-18 UNC Class 2A threads to confirm they meet dimensional tolerance and will assemble correctly with a mating part. Thread ring gages are a standard tool in quality control, inspection, and production environments where external thread acceptance must be documented. This gage is calibrated to NIST-traceable standards, making it suitable for shops that require traceable measurement records.
This gage is designed for use with 5/16-18 UNC fasteners and threaded components classified to Class 2A tolerance. Class 2A is the most common tolerance class for general-purpose commercial fasteners, including bolts, studs, and screws used in mechanical assembly across manufacturing, MRO, aerospace, and industrial applications. It is used by quality inspectors, machinists, and tool room technicians as part of a Go/No-Go inspection process to accept or reject threaded workpieces before assembly.

Thread ring gages are handled and used by quality inspectors and machinist personnel, not installed in a system. Store the gage in its case when not in use to prevent damage to the thread form. Do not force the gage onto a thread — if it does not pass freely, the part does not meet Go tolerance and should not be accepted. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable masters is recommended to maintain inspection accuracy.
