The VERMONT GAGE 141153100 is a Class X Plus precision pin gage used to directly gage parts or calibrate measuring equipment. Manufactured from tool steel with a 4 microinch surface finish, it measures 0.531 inches in diameter and 2 inches in length. The Class X Plus tolerance grade holds a unilateral plus tolerance of +0.00004 inches, making it one of the tightest tolerance classes available for go/no-go and attribute inspection work. Each gage ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST standards, supporting documented quality and calibration programs in machine shops, toolrooms, and metrology labs.
This pin gage is suited for dimensional inspection of bored holes, reamed features, and precision machined components where tight tolerances must be verified. It is a standard tool in incoming inspection, first-article verification, and in-process quality checks across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking environments. Licensed metrology technicians and quality inspectors are the primary users, though experienced machinists and toolmakers routinely incorporate pin gages into setup and verification workflows.
Designed as a direct-measurement and calibration reference gage for holes and bores nominally sized at 0.531 inches. Compatible with standard pin gage handles and gage block accessories used in general metrology and quality inspection setups.
Pin gages are handled by qualified metrology technicians or quality inspection personnel. Always clean the gage and the part feature with a lint-free cloth before use to remove debris that could affect accuracy or damage the gage surface. Store in the provided case when not in use to prevent corrosion and surface damage. Do not force the gage into a hole; controlled hand pressure is the correct insertion method to preserve the tolerance surface.
