The VERMONT GAGE 112305030 is a Class ZZ Plus cylindrical plug gage designed to perform go-type inspection of machined bores and internal features. Ground from tool steel to a 5.03 mm diameter with a tolerance of 0.00508 mm, this gage delivers the dimensional accuracy required for verifying hole size conformance on the shop floor or in a metrology room. The working surface carries a 10 microfinish, reducing wear on the gage and the workpiece during repeated insertions. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying most quality-system documentation requirements. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-room personnel are the primary users of this type of gage.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection of precision bores in production and job-shop environments. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, and other comparative measuring devices where a known reference diameter is needed. Applications span general machining, aerospace component inspection, mold and die work, and any process where bore diameter must be confirmed to close tolerances. The overall length of 2.0000 inches provides adequate handle engagement for use in standard gage-handle holders.
Designed for use in standard plug gage handles sized for the 5.03 mm diameter range. Also suitable as a setting reference for micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a certified diameter standard.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists; no permanent installation is required. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion on the tool steel surface. Do not force the gage into an undersized bore, as this will damage both the gage and the part. Store in a protective case away from temperature extremes to maintain dimensional stability and protect the Certificate of Accuracy documentation.
