The VERMONT GAGE 112105160 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision hole inspection in tool rooms, quality labs, and production environments. This gage checks whether a drilled, reamed, or bored hole meets minimum diameter tolerance - a go-inspection function. The working diameter is 5.16 mm with a tolerance of 0.005 mm (0.00508 mm), and the gage body is finished to a 10 microfinish surface quality. Manufactured from tool steel, the 112105160 measures 2.0000 inches in overall length and ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrologists are the primary users of this type of precision tooling.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection applications where a hole must accept a minimum acceptable diameter before the part advances in a manufacturing process. Typical use cases include verifying holes produced by drilling, reaming, or boring operations on CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill presses. It is also compatible with use alongside set micrometers, vernier calipers, and other measuring devices when zeroing or calibrating instrument reference points. Store the gage in its protective sleeve when not in use to prevent surface damage and contamination. Apply a light film of instrument oil before use to protect the tool steel from corrosion and to reduce wear on the gage member. Do not force the gage into a bore; if resistance is encountered, the hole is undersize and should be re-inspected before further processing.
