The VERMONT GAGE 112104280 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision dimensional inspection of bored or drilled holes. Built from tool steel, this gage checks that a hole diameter meets its lower tolerance limit in go inspection applications. At 4.28 mm nominal diameter with a tolerance of 0.005 mm, it provides the accuracy required for quality control in machining and manufacturing environments. A 10 microfinish surface ensures consistent, low-friction contact during measurement. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy backed by NIST traceability, meeting the documentation requirements of modern quality management systems.
This plug gage is suited for production floor and inspection room use where go-type attribute gauging is required on small-diameter features. Typical applications include verifying hole size conformance after drilling, reaming, or boring operations. It is also used alongside set micrometers, vernier calipers, and other measuring devices to establish or verify calibration reference points. Meets ASME B89.1 standards, making it appropriate for regulated manufacturing, aerospace, and precision metalworking environments.
Designed for go inspection of features with a 4.28 mm nominal diameter; also suitable for use as a reference standard when setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices.
Plug gages are handled and applied by quality technicians or machinists performing attribute inspection. Store the gage in its protective case and apply a light coat of instrument oil when not in use to prevent corrosion of the tool steel surface. Never force the gage into a bore; a go gage should pass through a conforming hole under its own weight or with light hand pressure only. Clean both the gage and the part bore before each use to prevent debris from affecting measurement accuracy.
