The VERMONT GAGE 112102420 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel and used to verify bore diameters with precision. It measures a nominal diameter of 2.42 mm with a tolerance of 0.00508 mm and a surface finish of 10 microfinish. The gage has an overall length of 2.0 inches and weighs 0.01 pounds. Plug gages at this tolerance class are used during incoming inspection, process control, and final quality verification. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements for ISO and AS9100 quality systems. Tool steel construction provides the wear resistance needed for repeated gauging cycles in production environments.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection of precision bored holes in the 2.42 mm range. Typical applications include validating hole size on machined components, calibrating or verifying the zero-set on micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices. It is appropriate for use in machine shops, quality labs, aerospace, medical device manufacturing, and any environment where sub-millimeter bore tolerances must be confirmed to ASME B89.1 standards. The compact size makes it practical for both bench use and in-process floor checks.
Designed for go inspection of bores with a nominal diameter of 2.42 mm; also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices in accordance with ASME B89.1.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and metrologists following standard gauging procedures. Clean the gage and the part bore before use to prevent debris from affecting the measurement result. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage to the precision ground surface. Do not force the gage into an undersized bore, as this will cause wear and compromise tolerance accuracy.
