The VERMONT GAGE 112100280 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional inspection of small-diameter bores and holes. It carries a 0.28 mm nominal diameter with a tolerance of 0.00508 mm and a 10 microfinish surface finish. The gage ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, making it suitable for calibration records and quality-system documentation. Metrology technicians, tool-room machinists, and quality-control inspectors use this type of gage to verify that a feature meets its minimum material condition in a Go inspection workflow. Overall length is 2.0 inches.
This plug gage is designed for Go inspection applications where precise, repeatable measurement of a small bore is required. It is also suited for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices that require a traceable reference standard. The 0.28 mm diameter makes it appropriate for fine-tolerance work encountered in precision machining, medical device manufacturing, electronics assembly, and similar industries where sub-millimeter feature verification is routine. A single gage is supplied per package.
Designed as an OEM-style Go plug gage for use in standard gage-handle holders sized for small-diameter pin gages; also used as a setting standard for micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices as noted in the product specifications.
Plug gages are handled and used by metrology technicians and quality-control personnel; no power source or utility shutoff is required. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use and apply a light instrument oil after handling to prevent corrosion from skin contact. Do not force the gage into a bore; Go gages should pass under the weight of the gage alone or with minimal hand pressure. Verify the gage against a known traceable standard at regular calibration intervals per your quality management system requirements.
