The VERMONT GAGE 111306050 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional inspection of small-diameter bores and holes. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.0605 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for precision Go inspection work. The working surface carries a 10 microfinish, which minimizes wear on the gage and the workpiece during repeated insertion checks. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy that carries NIST traceability, meeting the documentation requirements common in quality-controlled manufacturing and inspection environments. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and quality control inspectors are the primary users of this type of gage.
This plug gage is used in Go inspection applications where confirming that a bore or hole accepts a part of a defined minimum size is required. It is also used to set micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices to a known reference diameter. Typical applications include production floor inspection of drilled, reamed, or punched holes in metal, plastic, or composite workpieces where tight dimensional control is critical. The 2.0 inch overall length provides adequate handling clearance for bench and inline inspection setups.
Designed for Go inspection use and as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a precision small-diameter reference. Suitable for any application conforming to ASME B89.1 Class ZZ Plus plug gage specifications.
Plug gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves to prevent corrosion from skin contact. Store the gage in its case or protective sleeve when not in use to preserve the microfinish surface. Before use, inspect the gage for visible wear, nicks, or contamination, and clean lightly with an appropriate gage oil if needed. Do not force the gage into a bore — controlled, light insertion pressure is required to avoid damage to the gage or the workpiece.
