The VERMONT GAGE 111255400 is a Class ZZ minus-tolerance plug pin gage machined from steel and used to verify that a bored or reamed hole does not exceed its maximum allowable size. At 0.5540 inches in diameter with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, this pin gage is the NoGo member of a go/no-go inspection pair. Overall length is 2 inches. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy carrying NIST traceability, making it suitable for use in calibrated inspection environments. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-and-die professionals rely on this type of gage for fast, repeatable attribute inspection at the bench or on the floor.
This gage is intended for NoGo inspection of holes at 0.5540 inches nominal diameter. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a known reference standard. Typical applications include incoming inspection, in-process quality control, and final acceptance inspection in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and production environments where hole tolerances must be confirmed to print.
Designed for NoGo inspection of holes at 0.5540 inches diameter and for use as a reference standard with micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices. Suitable for any application requiring a Class ZZ minus plug gage at this diameter.
Plug pin gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists — no installation in the mechanical sense is required, but proper care is essential. Clean the gage and the workpiece bore before inspection to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could cause false readings or damage the gage surface. Never force a NoGo gage into a hole; if resistance is felt, the condition is met and the part fails. Store the gage in its case away from other tooling to protect the lapped surface finish and maintain dimensional integrity.
