The VERMONT GAGE 111252400 is a Class ZZ Minus plug pin gage used to verify that a drilled, reamed, or bored hole does not exceed its maximum allowable diameter. Designed for NoGo inspection duty, this gage is ground from steel to a 0.5240-inch nominal diameter with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. At 2 inches in overall length, the pin is sized for handheld use in shop or receiving-inspection environments. Every unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy that carries NIST traceability, giving quality departments the documentation chain required for ISO and AS9100 audits. Machinists, quality technicians, and toolroom personnel are the primary users.
This pin gage is applied wherever a 0.5240-inch NoGo check is required in a go/no-go inspection routine. Typical applications include final inspection of close-tolerance bores, incoming inspection of machined parts, and calibration setup for micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices. The Class ZZ tolerance designation makes it appropriate for general production inspection rather than master or reference gage work. It is equally at home on a machine shop floor, a quality bench, or a toolroom calibration station.
Designed as a NoGo plug pin gage for use in go/no-go inspection setups, and as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and comparable measuring devices requiring a 0.5240-inch reference diameter.
Pin gages should be handled with clean, dry hands or lint-free gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Before use, wipe the pin and the bore being checked with a clean cloth to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could cause a false rejection or damage the gage surface. Never force a pin gage into a hole; light hand pressure is sufficient for a valid NoGo check. Store the pin in its protective sleeve or case when not in use to maintain the surface finish and dimensional integrity.
