The VERMONT GAGE 111240800 is a Class ZZ Minus plug pin gage used to perform NoGo inspection of machined bores, holes, and other dimensional features. It measures 0.4080 inches in diameter and is manufactured from steel to a 10 microfinish surface coating. At an overall length of 2 inches, this gage is sized for handheld use in a production or inspection environment. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, making it suitable for quality-controlled inspection workflows. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality control inspectors use plug gages like this to verify that a hole has not exceeded its maximum allowable size.
This gage is intended for NoGo inspection applications where the gage should not enter a conforming hole. It is also used to set micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices to a known reference diameter. Typical applications include incoming inspection, in-process quality checks, and final inspection of machined components in manufacturing, toolroom, and metrology settings. The Class ZZ tolerance grade is appropriate for general-purpose inspection work where high precision is required but Class Z or ZZ tolerances are specified by the quality plan.
Designed as a general-purpose Class ZZ Minus plug pin gage for NoGo inspection of holes and bores, and for referencing and setting micrometers, verniers, and comparable hand-measuring instruments.
Plug pin gages are handled and used by machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality inspectors — no power source or mechanical installation is required. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage to the precision ground surface. Clean the gage and the bore being checked before use to avoid false readings from chips or debris. Do not force the gage into a hole; a NoGo gage that requires force to insert may indicate a damaged gage or an out-of-tolerance condition requiring further evaluation.
