The VERMONT GAGE 111183000 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for precise go inspection of bored holes, reamed features, and other cylindrical toleranced workpieces. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.83 inches and holds a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, placing it in the Class ZZ Plus accuracy band defined under ASME B89.1. The working surface carries a 10 microinch finish that ensures consistent, repeatable contact with the gauged feature. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy with NIST traceability, making it suitable for documented quality systems and calibration records.
This plug gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and quality-control labs wherever a 0.83-inch nominal bore must be verified against a go condition. Typical applications include checking drilled, reamed, or bored holes before assembly, setting micrometers and verniers to a reference diameter, and verifying other comparative measuring devices. It fits naturally into both production-floor inspection routines and calibration bench setups. The compact 2.0-inch overall length makes it easy to handle and store in standard gage blocks.
Designed as a go-inspection plug gage for 0.83-inch nominal diameter bores; also suitable for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other comparative measuring devices.
Plug gages are handled and used by machinists, quality technicians, and metrologists — no power source or mechanical installation is required. Store the gage in its protective case and keep it clean and lightly oiled to prevent corrosion of the tool steel surface. Do not force the gage into an undersized bore; excessive insertion force can damage both the gage and the workpiece. Periodic recalibration against a traceable reference standard is recommended to maintain measurement integrity.
