The VERMONT GAGE 111170300 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precise go inspection of machined bores and holes. Manufactured from tool steel, this gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.703 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. The working surface carries a 10 microinch finish, which directly supports repeatable contact and consistent readings. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, meeting ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, quality control technicians, and metrology lab personnel use this gage to verify that a bore or hole falls within its specified lower limit before a part advances in production.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection tasks in precision machining environments, tool rooms, and quality inspection stations. It is used with setting micrometers, vernier calipers, and other dimensional measuring devices to confirm workpiece acceptance at the minimum material condition. Typical applications include checking drilled, reamed, or bored holes in metalworking and manufacturing operations where dimensional conformance to print is required. The 2.0-inch overall length provides adequate handling clearance in standard bench inspection setups.
Designed as an OEM-style go plug gage for use with setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a Class ZZ Plus reference standard at 0.703 inches nominal diameter.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians or machinists and do not require power tools or utilities for operation. Before use, clean the gage and workpiece bore with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could cause false readings or surface damage. Apply light gage oil when checking ferrous workpieces to minimize wear on the gage member. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to preserve the calibrated surface finish and prevent corrosion.
