The VERMONT GAGE 111158700 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage used to verify bore and hole dimensions to a high degree of dimensional accuracy. Machined from tool steel, this go-inspection gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.587 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. The working surface carries a 10 microfinish, reducing wear and ensuring repeatable contact during inspection. At an overall length of 2.0 inches, it fits standard handle systems used in production and quality-control environments. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy backed by NIST traceability, meeting ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrology professionals rely on this type of gage for fast, definitive go/no-go inspection decisions.
This plug gage is suited for inspecting holes, bores, and cylindrical features in manufactured components where tight dimensional tolerances must be confirmed before assembly. Typical applications include go inspection of drilled, reamed, or bored holes, as well as calibration and verification checks on micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices. It is appropriate for use in both job-shop and high-volume production inspection environments where ASME B89.1 compliance is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard inspection tool for use with conventional plug gage handle systems. Suitable for go inspection of 0.587-inch nominal diameter features and for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices per ASME B89.1.
Plug gages are installed and used by machinists and quality control technicians. Before use, clean both the gage member and the workpiece bore with a lint-free cloth to remove chips, oils, and debris that can affect readings. Never force a plug gage into an undersize hole, as this will damage the gage surface and invalidate dimensional accuracy. Store the gage in its protective case away from heat sources and corrosive environments to maintain calibration integrity.
