The VERMONT GAGE 111155800 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision dimensional inspection of bored, drilled, and reamed holes. Manufactured from tool steel, this go-style gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.558 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for high-accuracy go inspection work. The working surface carries a 10 microinch finish, which supports consistent, repeatable contact with the part being inspected. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements for quality systems operating under ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrology professionals use this gage in production and inspection environments.
This plug gage is used in applications where a go member is needed to verify that a hole falls within its minimum acceptable size. Typical install scenarios include incoming inspection, in-process inspection on CNC machining cells, and final inspection before assembly. The gage also serves as a reference standard for setting micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gages, and other measuring devices where a known physical dimension is required. It is equally suited to job shop and high-volume production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style go plug gage for use in go inspection of holes nominally sized at 0.558 inches. Also suitable for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a traceable physical reference.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists; no power-down or lockout procedure is required. Keep the gaging surface clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion on the tool steel member. Do not force the gage into an undersized hole, as this will damage the gaging surface and invalidate the tolerance class. Store in the original case or a protected environment to maintain the certified surface finish and dimensional integrity.
