The VERMONT GAGE 111145700 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional inspection of bored holes, drilled passages, and precision-machined features. It measures a nominal diameter of 0.457 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for Go inspection tasks where tight dimensional verification is required. The gage body carries a 10 microfinish surface on the measuring element, reducing wear and ensuring repeatable contact with the workpiece. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool-room personnel use this type of gage during in-process and final inspection operations.
This plug gage is used in machine shops, manufacturing cells, and quality labs for Go inspection of holes and bores dimensioned at or near 0.457 inches. It is also appropriate as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a known dimensional artifact. Applications span general metalworking, tooling fabrication, and precision part inspection where ASME B89.1 compliance is specified or preferred.
Designed for Go inspection of holes and precision bores nominally sized at 0.457 inches. Also used as a reference artifact for calibrating or setting micrometers, verniers, and similar dimensional measuring instruments per ASME B89.1 requirements.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists; no power source or trade license is required for use. Clean both the gage and the workpiece bore thoroughly before gaging to prevent false readings or surface damage. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to preserve the calibrated surface finish. Avoid dropping or using the gage as a reamer or forcing tool, as this will alter the calibrated diameter and void NIST traceability.
