The VERMONT GAGE 111142900 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage used to verify bore and hole dimensions to tight tolerances in precision inspection work. Manufactured from tool steel, this gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.429 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. The working surface carries a 10 microinch finish, which supports accurate, repeatable contact with the workpiece. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements for ISO-compliant and controlled manufacturing environments. Dimensional inspectors, quality technicians, and tool-room machinists use this gage in production and receiving inspection applications.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection of holes, bores, and machined features where dimensional conformance must be verified before assembly. It is also used to calibrate and verify the accuracy of setting micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices. The 2.0-inch overall length provides comfortable handling during bench or in-process inspection. Applicable to a wide range of metalworking, machining, and precision manufacturing environments in both job shop and production floor settings.
Designed for go inspection of holes and bores at a nominal diameter of 0.429 inches, and for use as a setting standard with micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices per ASME B89.1.
Plug gages are handled and used by dimensional inspection and quality control personnel — not installed in a system, but deployed at an inspection station or tool-room bench. Before use, clean and dry both the gage and the workpiece bore to prevent contamination from affecting readings. Do not force the gage through an undersize feature; forcing can damage the gage land and invalidate its tolerance class. Store in a protective case away from temperature extremes to maintain dimensional stability and NIST-traceable certification integrity.
