The VERMONT GAGE 111139100 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision dimensional inspection of holes and bores. Manufactured from tool steel, this gage measures a nominal diameter of 0.391 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches and a 10 microfinish surface finish. It is used to verify that a workpiece meets Go inspection criteria, confirming a hole falls within the acceptable size range. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, making it suitable for documented quality control programs. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and quality assurance personnel are the primary users of this instrument.
This plug gage is applied in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and toolrooms where precise hole-size verification is required. The Go configuration is used to confirm a hole is not undersized, supporting dimensional conformance checks on machined parts. It is also suitable for calibrating and setting micrometers, vernier calipers, and other comparative measuring devices. At an overall length of 2.0 inches, it is compact enough for bench use and routine production floor inspection tasks. Compliance with ASME B89.1 standards ensures the gage meets recognized dimensional metrology requirements.
Designed for Go inspection of holes with a nominal diameter of 0.391 inches. Also suitable for setting and verifying micrometers, vernier calipers, and other comparative measuring devices as stated by the manufacturer.
Plug gages should be handled and stored carefully to prevent damage to the precision ground surface. Before use, clean the gage and workpiece bore thoroughly to remove chips, coolant, and debris that could affect the measurement result. Apply light gage oil when inserting the plug to reduce wear and extend service life. Periodic recalibration against NIST-traceable standards is recommended to maintain measurement integrity over time.
