The VERMONT GAGE 111125100 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel and designed for go inspection of bored, drilled, or reamed holes. This single-ended gage checks whether a hole falls within its specified size tolerance, making it a standard instrument in quality control and dimensional inspection workflows. The measuring diameter is 0.251 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, and the working surface carries a 10 microfinish for consistent, repeatable contact. Overall length is 2.0 inches. The part ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, meeting ASME B89.1 standards. Machinists, tool-room technicians, and quality inspectors are the primary users.
This plug gage is suited for incoming inspection, in-process checks, and final inspection of precision holes in both production and job-shop environments. It is also used to set and verify micrometers, vernier calipers, and other measuring devices where a certified reference of known diameter is required. Applications span general metalworking, aerospace component inspection, and any production setting where hole diameter must be confirmed before assembly.
Designed for go inspection of holes nominally sized at 0.251 inches in diameter, and suitable for setting and verifying micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices requiring a certified reference plug.
Plug gages are used by quality technicians and machinists without power tools — no power-down or lockout procedure applies, but the gage must be handled with clean, dry hands or cotton gloves to prevent corrosion from skin oils. Never force the gage into a hole; it should enter under light hand pressure when the hole is within tolerance. Store the gage in its case when not in use to protect the lapped measuring surface from contact damage. Reference ASME B89.1 for calibration interval and care guidance.
