The VERMONT GAGE 111124500 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed to verify bore and hole diameters to a 0.245-inch nominal measurement. Built from tool steel with a 10 microfinish surface, it delivers a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, making it suitable for go inspection applications where consistent, repeatable measurement is required. Each gage ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, meeting the documentation requirements of quality systems and calibration programs. Machinists, quality technicians, and metrology professionals use this type of gage for incoming inspection, in-process verification, and calibration of measuring instruments.
This plug gage is used in precision measurement environments including machine shops, manufacturing inspection stations, and calibration labs. Its primary application is go inspection of drilled, reamed, or bored holes at the 0.245-inch nominal diameter. It also serves as a reference standard for setting micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices. The 2.0-inch overall length provides adequate handling clearance for typical bench inspection setups. Conformance to ASME B89.1 makes it appropriate for use in regulated quality environments requiring traceable dimensional standards.
Designed as a go inspection plug gage for verifying 0.245-inch nominal bores, and for use as a setting reference with micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices as noted in the product application data.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists following standard metrology practices. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent surface damage to the 10 microfinish. Clean the gage and the bore being measured before use to remove chips, oil, or debris that could cause false readings or accelerate wear. Do not force the gage into an undersized bore, as this can damage both the gage and the workpiece.
