The VERMONT GAGE 111118500 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage machined from tool steel for dimensional inspection of holes and bores. Designed to a 0.185 inch nominal diameter with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches, this gage delivers reliable go inspection results in manufacturing and quality control environments. The 10 microfinish surface finish reduces wear on both the gage and the workpiece bore. Overall length is 2.0 inches, making it easy to handle during bench or in-process inspection. A Certificate of Accuracy with NIST traceability is included, supporting documentation requirements for ISO and AS9100 quality management systems. Machinists, quality technicians, and tool crib personnel are the primary users.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection of holes in production parts across metalworking, aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing settings. It is also used to set micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices where a known reference diameter is required. The 0.185 inch size covers small-bore applications common in precision machined components. The tool steel construction withstands repeated use in high-cycle inspection environments without rapid dimensional degradation.
Designed for go inspection of 0.185 inch diameter holes and bores, and for use as a setting reference with micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring devices. Conforms to ASME B89.1 dimensional standards for plug gages.
Plug gages are handled and used by quality technicians and machinists — no power tools or utilities need to be shut down before use. Keep the gage clean and lightly oiled when not in use to prevent corrosion on the tool steel body. Do not force the gage into a bore; excessive insertion force will damage the workpiece and accelerate gage wear. Store in a protective case away from other metal tooling to preserve the calibrated surface finish.
