The VERMONT GAGE 111107200 is a Class ZZ Plus plug gage designed for precision dimensional inspection of bores, holes, and internal features. Machined from tool steel with a 10 microfinish surface, it measures a nominal diameter of 0.072 inches with a tolerance of 0.0002 inches. This level of precision makes it a reliable go-gage reference for quality-control work on the shop floor or in a metrology lab. Each unit ships with a Certificate of Accuracy traceable to NIST, satisfying documentation requirements for ISO and AS9100 quality systems. Licensed metrologists, machinists, and quality technicians are the typical end users.
This plug gage is suited for go inspection tasks where tight hole-diameter verification is required. It is commonly used alongside set micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices to establish or verify calibration references. Applications include incoming inspection, in-process gauging, and final acceptance checks on precision-machined components in manufacturing, aerospace, and general metrology environments. The 2.0-inch overall length provides a comfortable handling section for single-hand operation during inspection routines.
Designed as an OEM-style go plug gage for use with set micrometers, verniers, and other measuring devices requiring a 0.072-inch diameter reference standard per ASME B89.1.
Plug gages should be handled by qualified metrologists or inspection personnel; no installation trade license is required, but proper metrology practices apply. Before use, clean the gage and the part bore with a lint-free cloth to remove debris, oils, or coolant residue that could affect measurement accuracy. Never force a plug gage into an undersized bore, as this damages the gage and the part surface. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent corrosion and dimensional changes from thermal exposure.
